Chopin – Ballade No. 2, Op. 38

Frédéric Chopin’s Ballade No. 2 in F major, Op. 38 was composed in 1839. It follows a ternary structure, opening with a moderate theme in duple metre, followed by a faster, agitated middle section, and returning to the original motif at the very end.

Ravel – Jeux d’eau

Maurice Ravel completed Jeux d’eau in 1901, one of his first published piano works. It is based on a single recurring motif, with continuous arpeggios and extended harmonies intended to represent water imagery.
