Criolla is the 3rd piece of Tres Piezas, Op. 6. It was written by the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera. This work is in ternary form, ending with a coda. It was dedicated to Mercedes De Toro, who became Ginastera’s wife the following year.

Valse Gracieuse is a playful dance in rondo form. It was written by Australian pianist, composer and teacher, Marjorie Hesse. It was dedicated to Sidney May, who was Hesse’s teacher and colleague. It contains graceful 4-bar phrases, arranged into 16-bar sections. This delightful piece is waltz-like in style.
