Submission Guidelines

1. Single Entry: Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry.
2. No Entry Fee: Participation in the competition is free of charge.
3. Instrument Requirement: Performances must be on a Steinway & Sons, Boston, or Essex piano, with the brand clearly visible in the video. Please be advised that our stores will not be available for recording competition videos.
4. Musical Piece Selection: Participants may record only one piece, with no restrictions on length or music genre.
5. No Previous Recordings Accepted: All submissions must be original recordings created specifically for this competition and must not have been used in any past or ongoing competitions.
6. Australian Residents Only: The competition is open exclusively to Australian residents.
7. Age Requirement: Participants under 18 must have parental consent to enter.
8. Content Guidelines: The video must not contain any offensive content.
9. Audiences: Video submissions with audiences appearing in the video will not be approved.
10. Solo Performance: Only the participant may appear in the video. Group performances are not permitted.
11. Piano Performance: Submissions should be solely piano performances. No vocals or other instruments are allowed.
12. Visibility: The pianist's face must be visible throughout the performance.
13. Unique Code Verification: To ensure all performances are original and created specifically for our competition, each participant will be assigned a unique code by Steinway Galleries Australia. This code must be clearly written on a piece of paper and displayed at the beginning of your video, prior to starting your performance. Please note that digital displays of the code will not be accepted. Detailed instructions for obtaining and using your unique code will be provided upon registration.
14. Video Submission: Entries must be uploaded to your personal YouTube account within the competition timeframe. Entries uploaded prior to the entry period will not be approved.
15. Text and Description: Any video submitted for the competition must not display any text or description on the actual video footage.
16. Exclusion of Previous Winners: Past prize winners are ineligible to participate.
17. Video Quality: Submissions should be in a landscape format and HD quality.
18. Performance Integrity: Editing or altering the performance audio in any way is not permitted. The recording should be a true representation of the participant's live performance.
19. Management Rights: Management reserves the right to reject or refuse video submissions that they deem not in line with the rules or guidelines. This can be done without notice and at any time before the end of the competition.

Voting and Selection Process

1. Winner Selection: The winners will be selected by the Management Team at Steinway Galleries Australia. Additionally, a “People’s Choice” award will be given to the video that receives the highest number of verified votes during the voting period.
2. Voting Restrictions: All votes must originate from within Australia. Only one vote per Australian phone number will be considered valid.
3. Vote Verification: Votes will be verified via a confirmation text message.

Prizes

1. Management’s Choice: A $2,500 cash prize will be awarded to the performer selected by the management of Steinway Galleries Australia.
2. People’s Choice: The performance receiving the highest number of votes will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize.
