Yes, each contestant is required to perform 3 contrasting sections totaling a maximum playing time of 20 minutes within one single take.
No, each selection must be a different composer and a different repertoire style. One of the 3 pieces must be the first movement of a Sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi or Schubert.
Participants must bring their own recording devices and our staff are not available to film the performance. There aren’t any specific requirements for the type of recording device competitors are allowed to use. However, we do recommend that you bring a camera along with a tripod and a separate audio recording device to achieve the maximum sound quality.
No. If the contestant needs a pedal extender, they are required to bring their own. This will need to be put in place by a Steinway Galleries Australia staff member.
There will be no extra time given to participants arriving late. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
No. All sessions in our Gallery are limited to one booking per contestant. All recordings are final along with performances that are submitted online.
