We were treated to a special performance by Pauline Pidgeon ahead of her concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 2nd December.
Pauline was enrolled at the University of Melbourne where the Faculty of Music awarded her the coveted Exhibition Scholarship. She was a state finalist in the ABC’s instrumental and Vocal Competition and won second prize in the inaugural Chopin Competition.
Pauline has spent time in South Africa where she gave numerous recitals, broadcasts and lectured at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. Now retired, she is free to pursue her dreams to perform her favourite romantic repertoire.
Pauline treated the audience to:
Prelude in C Sharp Minor Op. 3 No. 2 – Rachmaninoff
Prelude in D Major Op. 23 No. 4 – Rachmaninoff
Prelude, Chorale et Fugue – C. Franck
Pauline’s performance was a favourite of the year, and we look forward to having her back soon.
